Get to know Eman

Eman Srouji is a first generation Palestinian American born and raised in Atlanta, GA. As a child, Eman would spend countless hours creating the perfect mud pies in her backyard and sculpting little animals out of anything she could get her hands on including Babybel cheese wax.

Eman attended Flagler College in Saint Augustine, FL where she graduated with an English Lit major and Creative Writing minor. Even though she longed to take pottery classes, she didn't get the opportunity until moving back to Atlanta.

Eman began taking pottery courses in January 2017 at Atlanta Clay Works. After finding a real passion there, she immersed herself in the world of pottery taking class after class. After a year of taking classes, Eman joined their collective where she continued to grow her skills and business.

Once she bought her Decatur home in 2021, Eman branched off on her own and installed a full home studio complete with three wheels and her kiln named Robert. In 2023, she left her full time teaching job to focus on her blooming business.

Eman combines her love of teaching and passion for pottery by teaching an after school Ceramic Handbuilding program for 2nd-6th graders as well as hosting individual and small group sessions out of her home studio.

Eman lives in Decatur with her partner Jose and their pets Luna (the most amazing calico cat that ever was and will be), Gouda (a friendly giant and fluffy Berner), and Noush (a complete rascal and the youngest of the three). Eman pops up at artist markets all over Atlanta and loves meeting her customers in person and talking all things pottery. She loves baking, gardening, reading, kayaking, traveling, soaking up the sun, watching hummingbirds, looking at the moon and of course, getting muddy.
